Are you ready for Super Bowl 51? While most will be watching for the game itself, many others will tune in to watch the commercials.
To help get us ready for the Super Bowl, YouTube has put out a new AdBlitz 10-year anniversary report, in which they name the top 20 most popular Super Bowl ads on YouTube for the past nine years.
YouTube said all the “Super Bowl ads released between 2008 and 2016 on YouTube were analyzed and ranked based on their views in January and February of the year in which they were released.” However, no ads before 2011 managed to crack the list.
Crazy stat #1: These top 20 Super Bowl ads have been watched for a combined 440 million minutes, or the equivalent of watching the Super Bowl 1.8 million times.
Crazy stat #2: 90 percent of these ads were released on YouTube prior to airing during the Super Bowl. Which makes sense – if you spend millions on a 30-second spot, you want to make sure as many people see it as possible.
Budweiser and Volkswagen appear on the list most often, with four ads each.
Here they are:
1. Budweiser: “Puppy Love” (2014)
2. Clash of Clans: “Revenge” (2015)
3. Volkswagen: “The Force” (2011)
4. Budweiser: “Lost Dog” (2015)
5. Pokemon: “#Pokemon20” (2016)
6. Mountain Dew: “Puppymonkeybaby” (2016)
