Social Stereotypes: You Are What You Share [Infographic]

Nowadays, there are so many different groups, with new ones forming all along, it is hard to keep track. What are we to make of all the social stereotypes?

Remember the good ol’ days of high school where there were particular “groups” of people? In my school, the majority of people were either jocks, nerds, preppies or freaks (stoners). A few fit into multiple groups such as nerdy freaks or jocks who partied. Nowadays, there are so many different types of groups, with new ones forming all the time, that it is hard to keep track. Where am I going with this anyway, you ask?

Imagine for a moment that today’s most social-social media sites are likened to the various groups in high school. This idea makes perfect sense, because when it comes to social media, many of the sites have their own unique visitors social demographics, as well as content. For example, Google + is perhaps mostly comprised of technical people whereas Facebook seems to have more of a broad user base.
