Bing announced on its search blog today that it now directly displays Pinterest board collections in its image search results. The Pinterest board results appear on the right hand side of the results:
Clicking on a collection takes users to another screen that shows all images on the pin board. Drilling down and clicking on a specific image enlarges it, and gives the user an option to Pin It directly from the Bing Image Search results (a feature they introduced in April 2013):
The partnership between Bing and Pinterest has raised some speculation about where it could go next, including possible monetization options. Pinterest has been working on monetizing its platform through sponsored ads, and Bing could benefit from possible ad syndication or Webmaster Tools data.
